We're hiring
Infrastructure Engineer (3rd Line)
Own the gnarliest tickets and the most interesting projects across cloud, networking and security for clients who genuinely depend on us.
About the role
This is the senior escalation point on our service desk and the engineering muscle behind our project work. One day you're getting to the bottom of a problem two other engineers couldn't crack, the next you're designing and delivering a migration, a network refresh or an Azure environment for a client who'll know you by name.
We're vendor-independent, so you won't be boxed into one stack. Microsoft 365 and Azure sit alongside FortiGate, UniFi, VMware, Linux and whatever else the right answer happens to be. If you like variety and being trusted to make the call, this is that job.
What you'll be doing
- Act as the final technical escalation for the service desk, owning complex incidents through to root cause
- Design, implement and document infrastructure projects: migrations, networks, virtualisation, cloud
- Administer and improve client environments across Microsoft 365, Azure, Windows Server and networking
- Mentor 1st and 2nd line engineers and raise the technical bar across the team
- Take part in the on-call rota supporting our 24×7 clients
What we're looking for
- Solid commercial experience at 3rd line or senior infrastructure level (MSP experience a big plus)
- Strong Microsoft 365 and Entra ID administration, including security and conditional access
- Windows Server, virtualisation (VMware or Hyper-V) and backup/recovery experience
- Real networking knowledge: routing, VLANs, firewalls, VPNs, Wi-Fi
- Clear, patient communication with technical and non-technical people alike
- Full UK driving licence and the right to work in the UK
Bonus points for
- Azure engineering beyond the basics (networking, IaC, cost management)
- FortiGate, Palo Alto, Meraki or UniFi experience
- Linux administration
- Microsoft, Fortinet or networking certifications
What you'll get
20 days holiday plus bank holidays (rising to 22 after your first full year), paid certifications and training, hybrid working where the role allows, team events, and a clear progression path.
