We're hiring
Technical Lead
Set the technical direction, own the hardest problems, and lead a team of engineers who want to learn from you.
About the role
This is the most senior hands-on role in the business. You'll own technical standards and architecture across our client base, lead the engineering team day to day, and remain the person who gets called when something is genuinely difficult. It's a role for someone who wants their decisions to matter: what we standardise on, how we deliver projects, and how we keep two dozen client estates secure and boring (in the good way).
You'll work directly with the leadership team and with clients' senior stakeholders, translating business problems into technical answers and being trusted as the adult in the room during incidents.
What you'll be doing
- Own technical strategy, standards and documentation across all managed clients
- Lead, mentor and develop the engineering team, including workload and escalation management
- Architect the larger projects: cloud migrations, network designs, security programmes
- Be the final escalation for major incidents and lead post-incident reviews
- Support pre-sales with scoping, design and honest technical advice
- Keep our own tooling and platform sharp: RMM, monitoring, automation
What we're looking for
- A strong 3rd line / senior engineering background with several years leading or mentoring engineers
- Deep Microsoft 365, Entra ID and Azure knowledge, including security architecture
- Serious networking and firewall experience across at least one major vendor
- A track record of delivering infrastructure projects end to end
- Calm, decisive incident leadership and excellent client-facing communication
- Full UK driving licence and the right to work in the UK
Bonus points for
- MSP leadership experience
- Certifications such as AZ-104/AZ-305, NSE/FCP, CCNA/CCNP
- Experience with Cyber Essentials / Cyber Essentials Plus programmes
- Scripting and automation (PowerShell, Python, IaC)
What you'll get
20 days holiday plus bank holidays (rising to 22 after your first full year), paid certifications and training, hybrid working where the role allows, team events, and a clear progression path.
