Wi-Fi

Enterprise Wi-Fi design and installation from Next2IT, from Wi-Fi 7 and RF surveys to long-range building-to-building links, on Cisco, Meraki, Aruba and UniFi.

Complete enterprise wireless, built from the ground up

We do not just hang access points on walls. Next2IT designs, deploys and manages complete wireless infrastructure, from professional RF surveys and structured cabling through switching, PoE distribution, configuration and ongoing optimisation. Every deployment is engineered for capacity and reliability across Cisco, Meraki, Aruba and UniFi platforms.

What we deliver

Wi-Fi 7 and current standards. We deploy Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) alongside Wi-Fi 6E and Wi-Fi 6, choosing the right standard for your density, applications and budget.

Professional RF surveys. Every project begins with predictive modelling and on-site surveys using spectrum analysers. We map interference, measure attenuation and plan access point placement and channels for capacity, not guesswork.

Complete infrastructure. Structured cabling (Cat6A, Cat7), PoE switching, power distribution, cable management, mounting, configuration and certified testing, delivered as a production-ready network.

Long-range links. Point-to-point and point-to-multipoint wireless bridges connect buildings over distances from hundreds of metres to several kilometres, with line-of-sight and Fresnel zone analysis, lightning protection and weatherproofing. Ideal where trenching is impractical.

Ongoing management. Post-deployment monitoring through our Network Operations Centre, with firmware management, optimisation, troubleshooting and expansion planning.

Our deployment process

Every deployment follows a rigorous, proven methodology, handled in-house from start to finish.

  1. Discovery and requirements analysis. We capture user counts, device density, application needs (voice, video, data), existing infrastructure, coverage areas, building materials, guest access, VLAN segmentation and QoS priorities.
  2. Professional site survey and RF analysis. Predictive modelling plus physical walk-throughs with spectrum analysers to map interference, measure attenuation and determine optimal AP placement. For long-range links we run line-of-sight analysis using GPS and mapping tools.
  3. Detailed design and architecture. AP placement maps, channel plans, power levels, SSIDs, VLANs, security policies, guest access, and the supporting PoE switching (802.3at/bt/PoE++), power budgets, uplinks and cable routing, all documented for your approval before work starts.
  4. Structured cabling and infrastructure. Cat6A or Cat7 cabling to professional standards with proper trunking and management, PoE switches in comms rooms or IDF/MDF, redundancy where required, all tested and certified. Outdoor work includes weatherproof cabling, lightning protection and grounding.
  5. Access point installation and configuration. Professional mounting at surveyed locations, controller or cloud-management setup, SSIDs with WPA3-Enterprise where supported, VLANs, captive-portal guest access, roaming, band steering and QoS for voice and video. Long-range bridges are precisely aligned with alignment tools and spectrum analysers.
  6. Testing, validation and optimisation. Post-deployment surveys verify coverage, capacity and performance against design, measuring RSSI, roaming, throughput, latency and QoS. We fine-tune power, channels and roaming, and run user acceptance testing for mission-critical sites.
  7. Documentation and knowledge transfer. As-built drawings, full configuration documentation, test and validation reports, warranty and support contacts, and user guides, plus knowledge-transfer sessions with your IT team.
  8. Ongoing support and management. 24/7 NOC monitoring, firmware management, performance optimisation, capacity planning, incident response and regular health checks, with issues addressed proactively before they reach your users.

Platform expertise

We are vendor-agnostic and vendor-certified, deploying the right platform for your needs rather than pushing a single brand:

  • Cisco. Catalyst 9800 Series Wireless Controllers and Catalyst 9100 Series access points (Wi-Fi 6E/7), with Cisco DNA Center for analytics, ISE for 802.1X, CleanAir for interference mitigation and FlexConnect for branch sites. Carrier-grade and highly scalable.
  • Cisco Meraki. MR Series access points (MR57, MR86, MR46E) managed through the cloud-based Meraki Dashboard, with zero-touch provisioning, layer-7 application visibility and tight integration with Meraki switches, security appliances and cameras.
  • Aruba. 600 Series access points (Wi-Fi 6E/7) managed via Aruba Central or on-premise Mobility Controllers, with ClearPass for authentication and profiling, ClientMatch for client steering, AirMatch for RF optimisation and AppRF for application-aware traffic.
  • Ubiquiti UniFi. U7 Enterprise, U7 Pro (Wi-Fi 7), U6 Enterprise and Pro access points managed through the UniFi Network Controller or Dream Machine, delivering enterprise-grade features at compelling prices for SMEs and growing businesses.

For long-range bridges we use high-gain directional antennas and professional equipment from Ubiquiti (AirFiber, PowerBeam), Cambium Networks and Cisco, with Fresnel zone calculations and link budget analysis. We deploy licensed solutions (CBRS, licensed microwave) where interference-free connectivity is critical, and unlicensed (5GHz, 60GHz) for cost-effective links.

Wireless for every environment

  • Manufacturing and industrial facilities. Coverage for forklifts, handheld scanners, tablets and IoT sensors despite metal structures and machinery interference, designed for high availability. See manufacturing.
  • Corporate offices and business parks. High-density designs for meeting rooms, open-plan and hot-desking, with secure segmentation between corporate and guest networks.
  • Multi-site and campus environments. Unified infrastructure with seamless roaming, building-to-building bridges and single-pane management across the estate.
  • Warehouses and distribution centres. High-density coverage for barcode scanners, voice-directed picking and real-time inventory, with fast roaming across vast spaces, high ceilings and loading docks.
  • Outdoor and harsh environments. Ruggedised, weatherproof access points for construction, agriculture and car parks, with lightning protection, grounding and robust mounting.

FAQs

Frequently asked questions

Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be) is the latest standard, offering far higher speeds (up to 46 Gbps theoretical), lower latency and better performance in congested environments than Wi-Fi 6/6E. It introduces Multi-Link Operation (MLO) for simultaneous connections across bands, 320MHz channel widths and 4K-QAM modulation. It is ideal for high-density or bandwidth-intensive environments and for future-proofing new installs. For many businesses Wi-Fi 6E still gives excellent performance at lower cost, but Wi-Fi 7 is worth considering for greenfield or performance-critical deployments.

Timelines depend on size and complexity. A single-building office (20 to 30 access points) typically takes 2 to 3 weeks from survey to go-live, covering design, cabling, installation and testing. Large warehouses or multi-building campuses may take 4 to 8 weeks. We allow 1 to 2 days for the initial survey, about a week for design and procurement, 1 to 2 weeks for cabling and switching, and 2 to 3 days for access point install, configuration and validation.

A proper RF survey is the foundation of a successful deployment. It identifies interference, measures signal attenuation through building materials, determines optimal access point placement for coverage and capacity, plans channel assignments to minimise interference, and validates the design before any equipment is bought. Without one, deployments often suffer dead zones, poor performance and wasted money on badly positioned kit.

Yes. We regularly deploy point-to-point and point-to-multipoint wireless bridges to link buildings without trenching or leased lines. Using high-gain directional antennas, we deliver multi-gigabit connectivity over distances from hundreds of metres to several kilometres, depending on line of sight. We conduct line-of-sight analysis, Fresnel zone calculations and link budget analysis, and specify licensed or unlicensed solutions to suit your interference environment.

We offer managed services including 24/7 monitoring through our Network Operations Centre, firmware management, performance monitoring and optimisation, capacity planning, troubleshooting and incident response, and regular health checks. Our NOC tracks access point status, client connectivity, RF environment and throughput, resolving issues proactively, and we provide quarterly reviews covering performance and capacity trends.

It depends on your requirements, environment and budget. Cisco offers carrier-grade enterprise features and scalability for complex estates. Meraki provides cloud management and simplicity for distributed organisations. Aruba excels at sophisticated policy enforcement and analytics, ideal for education and healthcare. UniFi delivers enterprise features at compelling prices for growing SMEs. We are vendor-agnostic, so during discovery we recommend the platform that is genuinely right for you.
